Friends of Hope Cemetery & Woods

The Mission of Friends of Hope Cemetery & Woods is to protect, maintain, and promote Hope Woods; and to sustain the long-range financial stability of Hope Cemetery Corporation.

Hope Woods Conservation Initiative Success
Thanks to our many donors and the hard work of our Board Members, the Hope Woods Conservation Initiative was successfully completed in cooperation with Kennebunk Land Trust, reaching our goal of raising $1.4 Million. Hope Woods can now be preserved and enjoyed for years to come. We are looking forward to furthering our relationship with Kennebunk Land Trust and to planning activities and events that will allow enjoyment and appreciation of this local treasure.

Universally Accessible Trail Project
The Universally Accessible Trail will allow those who are mobility challenged to have access to beautiful Hope Woods. ADA parking will be available. Caribou Recreation Development, LLC has been hired to complete the project, which is scheduled to begin in mid-August. To help cover expenses, grants have been received from the State of Maine’s Recreational Trails Program and Land for Maine’s Future. Two private foundations have also provided financial support: The Fields Pond Foundation and the Tommy McNamara Charitable Foundation.
